Install XP on Acer Aspire 4310. SATA Hard disk

Notebook or pc that has SATA hard disk type is the hardest to install, when I first had my hand on it. Spent more few nights trying to install Windows XP into an Acer Aspire 4310. Connected a Sony usb floppy disk drive & boot up the notebook using Windows XP CD. Hit F6 key immediately to load the hard disk driver from floppy drive. Upon loading the driver successfully, XP still prompt to load the same driver after it's ready to proceed with the installation. However, this time, it's not able to read from floppy drive !!!

I was about to give up after days of trying, then I decided to use an IBM USB floppy disk drive for last try. AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY FINE !!!
Installation completed successfully without hiccups.

I guess Sony usb floppy drive is not in the XP HCL list, which causes the above problem.

Meet The Peoples Sessions

There will be lots of 'meet the peoples' sessions by the politicians until before the day we are all expected to cast our votes on March 8. When the result has been announced, it's back to square one again. They will be back to their big offices, enjoying the perks derived from our monies, avoiding the hot weather out there, etc.

I don't recall such a 'meet the peoples' session & listen to what the peoples have to say, for the past few years. Well may be there are, but how frequent ? How many have done that ?

One thing for sure, it will definitely be great to have many 'meet the peoples' sessions even after the voting is over, regardless who win in the election. Fulfill your responsibilities & what you have promised to the people. Not just empty talk.

Get Well Soon My Friend

A long friend of my, has slip disc. Having said this, I can imagine the pain she's in. Difficulties in standing up straight & for long time. She has to go for one week of physiotherapy which means, money. Yet, her closest person to her, the person she has been living with for many years is not helping a bit. What kind of man will do such a thing ?

It's a lucky thing that her side of the family is helping out as much as they could.
Get well soon my friend. I can't help out anything, but sincere prayer & hope that you will get well in no time. God bless you.

Never Record Whats Shouldn't Be Recorded

The recent sex scandal involving Hong Kong actor Edison Chen & his partners has been & infact is still spreading like wild fire. Blogs features Edison Chen & actresses has started to upload the pics. Keeps me wondering, why in the world is he recording it ? And why are the ladies allowing it ?

What possible could we learn from this sex scandal ?

1. Images or videos taken with phones, cams once created, it's there forever. Even it's being transferred to hard drive, the track will still be there.

2. Emptying the trash will not help. There are many tools out on the Net which can recover files which has been emptied from recycle bin.

3. Don't think your phone or cam will be save with you forever. You are in deep shit if it's stolen.

4. Better be safe than sorry. Record the hot delicious drooling events in your brain, not on gadgets.

Fix Internet Connection Problem

Sometimes, out of sudden, our internet connection seems to break. Clicking here & there only shows a page cannot be displayed.

There are few things can be done :-

1. Reboot the ADSL modem. Most of the time, this should resolved the Internet connection problem.

2. Repair the LAN connection.

If you are able to see computer icon on the windows taskbar, right mouse click on it once. Select Repair.

3. Restart your computer.

4. If all fails, it's time to pick up the phone & call the service provider.

Arrogant Rich People

Are most of the rich people arrogant ? I think I can safely say, they are. Few of the examples I can quote are from my company. The Chairman & the CEO for instant, are one heck of an arrogant donkeys. Today I greeted one of them, but he just walk passed me & treat as if I'm invisible. And it is not the first time.

Enough is enough! No more mr. nice guy the next time I ever see them.

New Water Heater

Ahhh, at last got the new Panasonic shower heater, free of charged. Redeemed using Citibank credit card points. Can't believe it, I have accumulated the point for at least 5 years. Now it's back to square one, zero points left. Anyone know of any credit card that has low redeem points for electrical goods or other freebies?

Had the heater fixed last 3 days. That fella is charging RM95 for labour charge plus that little steel host connecting the main water paip to the heater !!!

Disruption in Middle East Internet

It was reported that on Wednesday morning, 2 underwater cables in the Mediterranean Sea were damaged & causing the Internet to crawl throughout the Middle East & parts of Asia. Internet traffics has been re-routed to Asia, across the Pacific Ocean, through the U.S. and then across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe.

Now if your Internet is a bit slow, that could be the problem. Click here to read more about it.
