Been trying out on newest version of Spiceworks 7.0.01308. The setup of my network, pinging to outside LAN is closed on the router which resulted in me getting lots of email from Spiceworks alert on “gmail.com is not responding to ping”. Searching high & low including at Inventory – Setting to disable that option. Finally found it at Inventory – Cloud Services – under provider “Markmonitor.com”. Deleting “gmail.com” resolved the problem.

The time will come when there’s a need to increase the Virtual disk size. These are the steps (to increase existing size of 10GB to 20GB):
1. Close the VM VirtualBox Manager.
2. On command prompt, go to the VirtualBox directory & issue command VBoxManage modifyhd “d:\vm\xp.vdi” --resize 20480
d:\vm\xp.vdi is the location of the vdi file. The location can also be found under SETTINGS – STORAGE.
20480 is the size in MB. In the case above, 20GB x 1024MB = 20480MB
The progress will be shown. Resize is completed at 100%
4. Boot up the virtual machine.
5. Final step is to Increase the partition size. My favorite is EaseUS Partition Master Free Edition. It’s simple & easy to us. Best of all, it’s free.

For an unknown reason, Cisco VPN client just refused to connect after I make Windows 7 as WiFi Hotspot. Getting error Reason 442: Failed to enable Virtual Adapter.
Apparently, Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service was causing the error. The workaround is to STOP Windows ICS service & bravo, Cisco VPN Client works like charm!

WAS Fix Packs
WAS Fix Packs Step by Step Installation
The good about DB2 Fix Packs, there’s no need to follow Fix Pack sequence. Eg, DB2 v9.1 last supported fix is Fix Pack 12. It contains the cumulative fixes of prior versions. Instead of having to apply earlier Fix Packs, the latest one can be used. However, do check on the requirement listed in latest Fix Pack prior to installation.
List of available DB2 Fix Packs can be found here :
The process of upgrading DB2 prior to version 9.7 is fully described here :

Program : c:\windows\system32\igfxsrvc.exe
igfxsrvc.exe is a process associated with Intel Common User Interface from Intel Corporation. It is installed with graphic card drivers with Intel chipsets. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.
Had issue with the error on newly setup Lenovo ThinkPad. Uninstalled the Intel Graphic driver & reinstalled with the version from Lenovo Support site & problem was resolved.
