This is easy to do, but I think fewer family have this in placed.
Ask yourself these questions; if your home is on fire, do you know what are the things to do? What are the important things to bring along with you? Who should be responsible to guide the eldery, the kids out to safety? Do you even know where you put your keys? Do you actually talk over it with your spouse or family members & draft out an 'exit plan'?
You might say now it's eays, just head to the exit, front or back door. But things will not be as easy as it seems when fire broke out. There will be chaos, smoke, heat, panic, screaming, totally darkness, confuse, searching for keys, directions, etc.
A simple plan drafted today, could save your life tomorrow.

It's sad when we hear abt death due to fire etc.. I think the most important thing to do is save lives. Material things can be obtained anytime but not ones life.
